Ballerina #20 made her appearance today - and she seems to be as confident and graceful as ever! She is 16x20 oil on linen panel. I also refined my hound dog a little and think I will call it done now.
And here is a quick oil sketch on brown paper as I work out an idea for my next ballerina painting.
All your comments thoughts and suggestions are much appreciated!
Ballerina #20 is gorgeous like all of your past ballerinas. She has personality and grace!!! Your hound dog is definitely finished.. "perfectly" ...and I'm so excited with your sketch of your ballerinas...I can't wait to see that one progress...love them all Susan!!!
ReplyDeleteYour enthusiasm inspires me, Hilda! The ballerina concept, possibly awaiting their turn at the audition, is exciting me too. Perhaps I will soon be ready to paint it. I once painted some cancan dancers where I had kept the idea in my mind for almost a year! One never knows with the creative spirit!
DeleteSusan, Ballerina #20 is wonderful. She seems confident almost to the point of arrogance. ;)
ReplyDeleteI agree, Kathryn - she is somewhat over confident in painting!
DeleteLove the dog.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nigel :).
DeleteOh love to see another ballerina! She is great, I like the light! Looking forward to the next ballerina scene!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Judy I seem to go back and forth between subject matter. I think it keeps me fresh and maintains my interest.
Deletefantastic works!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, Ashok! Your architectural drawings are very inspirational.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Sandra - I really appreciate your kind comment!
DeleteWonderful ballerina Susan! What a fun series.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Celeste - I never know what they will be up to next! :0!
DeleteSusan, you never fail to make me happy... such talent. I love the Ballerina and the hound, and sketch promises such great things.
ReplyDeleteTime is flying by and I am only just about catching up with postings.
Your account of the auction and the pictures you posted is/are really interesting. American paintings of the old West are so rich in storyline and so unique to the US ... but it doesn't stop me loving them.
Glad to make you happy, John - that makes me happy, too! The auction was indeed very exciting - I am already looking forward to attending again next year.
