One of my most enthusiastic blog follower/ art buddy friends Michael Perchard and his wife took the time and effort to attend the Boston International Fine Art Show earlier this month where Ballerina #16 was displayed. Susan Roux of the Roux and Cyr International Fine Art Gallery in Portland, Maine included it in her exhibit booth. Michael was able to meet Susan while he was there and was kind enough to write all about it on his blog.

Mickeal Perchard just completed a painting of the business our family ran for 54 years and most of my relatives who worked there have passed. I am a big fan of all your work! The white pony, the ballerinas are all so lively, energetic and above all: original.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice comment, Linda. One of my desires in this quest to become a painter is to try and defend myself against the object as suggested by Pierre Bonnard. I think that effort helps one to develop a sense of individual style which is of paramount importance to me.

I think I was born with oil paint in my veins in place of blood, Kathryn. It has called to me for as long as I can remember!

ReplyDeleteJ'ai été également très sensible aux mots, à l'approche que j'ai pu avoir avec Michael lorsqu'il m'avait annoncé déjà qu'il allait avoir la joie de se rendre au salon de Boston.
Ensuite Susan Roux m'avait contactée pour me dire les belles appréciations qu'il lui avait fait concernant mon travail... puis le gentil mail avec les photos... Sincèrement, je suis d'accord avec toi Susan, Michael est un homme au coeur généreux et il est aussi un talentueux peintre.
Je me rends compte que je suis chanceuse d'avoir des amis tel que lui et aussi une amie comme toi. Je n'aurais jamais songé un jour que les blogs étaient tout ça aussi !!... et c'est si bon !
Cela fait toujours mal de se séparer de l'une de nos oeuvres, mais si ce joli cheval blanc trouve une famille sache qu'il apportera un si grand bonheur dans leur vie...
