One of my most enthusiastic blog follower/ art buddy friends Michael Perchard and his wife took the time and effort to attend the Boston International Fine Art Show earlier this month where Ballerina #16 was displayed. Susan Roux of the Roux and Cyr International Fine Art Gallery in Portland, Maine included it in her exhibit booth. Michael was able to meet Susan while he was there and was kind enough to write all about it on his blog.

Michael is a wonderful artist whose joy of life comes through in every brushstroke that he places on canvas - an amazing quality! You can find his work here: Art by Michael Perchard
. I am so grateful to Michael for going to the show and sharing his photos and his thoughts with me. Thank you, Michael! And I am grateful to Susan Roux at the Roux & Cyr International Fine Art Gallery
for representing me and for providing me with the opportunity to participate in this event. Thank you, Susan (and Paul Cyr), and I am looking forward to the Small Works Show in December and to my solo (or semi solo) show in February. You are wonderful!
One of the paintings that I have shipped off to Maine for the December show is this one that I am so happy with and had a hard time parting with:

Good friends can be hard to find, but you have found a good one in Michael.ReplyDelete
I can see why you wouldn't want to part with, "The White Pony" .... it's lovely
Michael is a pure joy and I hope to be able to meet him some day.Delete
My name is Joseph Marino the grandson for Delma's donut shop in East Boston.
Mickeal Perchard just completed a painting of the business our family ran for 54 years and most of my relatives who worked there have passed. This painting has tremendous sentimental value and I would like to try and contact the artist. Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated. Jamindux@verizon.net. Happy Holidays. Joe
Hello Susan! I did get in touch with Joe Marino! I did sell him the painting! A wonderful holiday story! I will post on my blog soon! Sorry late in getting back to you my most awesome off the charts fun filled art painting buddy!Delete
Oh, I am blushing! Thank you for your wonderful shout out to me! We are so lucky to have so many wonderful art blogging buddies!
I am a big fan of all your work! The white pony, the ballerinas are all so lively, energetic and above all: original.ReplyDelete
What a nice comment, Linda. One of my desires in this quest to become a painter is to try and defend myself against the object as suggested by Pierre Bonnard. I think that effort helps one to develop a sense of individual style which is of paramount importance to me.Delete
Ballerina #16 is gorgeous Susan. She has such a beautiful face!! And I can see why you love the painting of the little girl on the pony ! SO amazing...! And it was wonderful that Michael was able to see your work!!ReplyDelete
I am so moved that Michael made the effort to attend the Boston show - he is such a lovely and unique person and I am indebted to him. Thank you for your kind words.Delete
Both paintings are really gorgeous, so full of life and with your characteristic loose brush strokes, you are such a great talent , wish you a lot of success !ReplyDelete
Many, many, many thanks, Jane. Each day when I face a blank canvas I try to achieve more than the day before. Your comment is so encouraging to me!Delete
Het ziet er allemaal heel spannend uit.....veel succes.ReplyDelete
Your words are greatly appreciated - thank you, Simonne.Delete
Thank you, ChanaDelete
Susan, I am so happy for you! Your work is receiving the acknowledgement it truly deserves. Your ballerinas are exquisite, and I love the little white pony. You [almost] make me want to take up oils. :)ReplyDelete
I think I was born with oil paint in my veins in place of blood, Kathryn. It has called to me for as long as I can remember!Delete
As always the paintings are stunning! I'm intrigued to know where you get your reference photo's from... I'd love to know :0)ReplyDelete
Thank you, Sandra. My paintings are generally a conglomerate of several photos and lots of imagination and freedom!Delete
I am so happy for you and your wonderful friends, Susan. The little white pony is fabulous!ReplyDelete
Thank you, Judy - that little pony seemed to just fly off my brush.Delete
It's great to have supportive friends especially in the arts!ReplyDelete
Your ballerina painting is gorgeous as is the pony, beautiful light and colors!
Thank you so much for visiting my blog ad for your lovely comment, Celia. Michael has been such a great friend. He continually supports and inspires me.Delete
Gros bisous ♡
