Bathing Beauties
I had a good time painting this little a la prima study. I am not sure of the crop or the composition, but it makes me happy. Its 12x 16 oil on canvas panel.
Irit, thank you for your comment. I have been doing larger works lately so stepping down to this size seemed small to me - I remember when 12x16 was dauntingly large! I always tone my canvas as stark white is intimidating to me. I frequently use burnt sienna but also umber and thalo, sometimes blue, sometimes green! There are no rules!
Thank you, Elizabeth - I am getting used to the crop and will see how it looks in a frame tomorrow after it sets up a bit. Thank you, Martinealison, I like the spontaneity of this meeting as well!
It makes me SMILE!! Thank you for sharing the painting, Susan, it's great.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kathryn. I am not sure if the headless woman bothers me or not!
ReplyDeleteLittle? LOL.
ReplyDeleteI love this painting, colors, composition, cropping.Everything about it.
Do you paint on red?
Lovely capture of light Susan and it tells the story immediately. I like the cropping it pulls you back to the two main characters. A wee jem :)
ReplyDeleteJ'aime cette rencontre... ils sont tellement spontanés...
ReplyDeleteLa lumière qui baigne votre peinture est sublime.
Gros bisous
