Ballerina #32 / oil on canvas panel / 24 x 18 |
My daughter also surprised me by sending this little book as a gift for Mother's Day. I have yet to look through it but I know I am going to be delighted as I was so captivated by his paintings that I recently saw in Washington.
Happy Mother's Day to all the mother's - may it be filled with love and joy!
Mooi geschenk van je dochter !
ReplyDeleteJe ballerina's zijn altijd prachtig en ook grappig Susan.
Hier bij ons geen sneeuw maar veel regen dit weekend....
groetjes,
Simonne
I am thoroughly enjoying our warm Spring weather - soon it will be time for a trip to the garden center for some annual flowers to perk up my gardens! Thank you for your support, Simonne.
DeleteAnother fabulous painting Susan. I wonder where you get the inspiration ...or do you just make them up ? Have a nice week.
ReplyDeleteI always have a certain idea in mind when I begin my ballerina paintings. They tend to develop in that general direction but usually surprise me as well.
DeleteThis is another amazing painting of the Ballerina's which I love so much!!! Beautiful subtle pinks .. Happy Mother's day, Susan...it looks like a great book!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
I have been reading this book and another small one that really chronicles Vuillard's life. It was fascinating and learning more about him has helped me appreciate his work on a deeper level.
DeleteSuperb!!! I am completely transfixed by the expressions on their faces, and find myself compelled to keep returning to study your painting. My eye was caught fist by the tights of the male dancer, then up to the face of the woman, and there they stayed ... back and forth between the two faces. I would love to see your work in real life some day, Susan - it must be so much more to see.

There is a lot going on in this painting - thank you for appreciating it, Kathryn. That means so much to me.
DeleteThis is so gorgeous! I think your ballerinas are my favourites of all! So unique and unmistakably you :0)
ReplyDeleteI love painting them - I have to wait for inspiration to hit me before a new one appears but they keep showing up - so far, anyway! I wanted to tell you, Sandra - I really enjoyed your Newsletter - it was so much fun to read and informative. I loved it!
DeleteNumber 32 is as beautiful as all her sisters! I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteI had a truly wonderful Mothers Day, Judy - and hope you did as well. Thanks for your continued support of my ballerinas!
