Sakoto
Sakoto / oil on convas / 16x12
Sakoto posed for us at the Portrait Society session on June 11th and I painted her portrait that day. Once I got home and had a chance to evaluate it more critically, I took a rag and wiped it off. This full figure rendering was done from a photo I took that day. I am infinitely more pleased with it than I was with her portrait!
Often a portrait takes a get acquainted painting. Your second attempt says your first attempt was successful. Sakato's expressive pose is terrific; I love the position of her feet in those shoes.
Well this is beautiful! Oh I hate creating a scraper... But I suppose not everything can be a success... though I'm sure what you might call unsuccessful other Artists would disagree :0)
I have mostly gotten over dismay at wiping off bad work. I am usually quite relieved to see it disappear! Thank you for your very nice comment, Sandra!
Okay Susan! You are one very talented rocking the red carpet artist! I am not sure if I said that before but it needed to be said! I so love your art! This piece is exceptional. Beautiful in so many wonderful and varied ways! Your style and the way you handle the medium is breathtaking! So Bravo, Bravo Buddy! Michael
Sakato is beautifully painted. As it was opening, the shadow appeared first and looked so perfect. Great job!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, Suzanne - there is conflicting light in the studio - far from ideal - and sometimes the shadows throw me. Thank you for your comment.

ReplyDeleteThe area of shoes and socks and how they merge into the skirt is my favorite part of this painting.
DeleteWell this is beautiful!
