Ballerina #12, a Portrait Study and Snow!
The sun broke through after a wildly windy snow storm and it was magical! Ballerina # 12 is very high key and I did a quick portrait study after dinner.
All your big ballerinas are beautiful. I love them! I love the portrait here. I found your comment on white paint interesting too--I use the W&N and thought about trying something different--maybe I'll stick with that. BTW, what kind of linen panels to you use?
Je suis très heureuse de me promener à nouveau dans votre blog et d'y découvrir de nouvelles oeuvres... Vous m'avez beaucoup manquée... Gros bisous et bravo pour ces deux dernières peintures.
Susan, your portrait study is brilliant! The Ballerina is absolutely superb; I do like the high key format, and the cool and absorbed look on her face. SNOW???? Great photo of the snow as the veil sweeps across the mountains.
Ciao, I like very very much the ballerina...is really anticonformist and alive! It is interesting to imagine what she is thinking... there are many possibility! I like the portrait too! Beatiful! Ciao, Floriana
My goodness - such a nice response to these works - thank you all so much! Stephanie, I have been trying out the Centurion Linen panels that are primed with oil. I like them but I think I prefer a coarser weave. I really love Fredrix linen panels but they have become very expensive. The Centurion is a more cost effective alternative.
This may be my personal favorite :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a change! Your ballerinas are going better and better, but I also love the portrait of the man.
ReplyDeleteYou keep amazing me with these ballerinas.
ReplyDeleteYour ballerina is hilarious...love her! And the portrait is really great too!
