Work in Progress

I am working on a large 24 x 36 oil on linen piece. Its probably my most complex and ambitious painting to date and, I  must say, I am exicited about it so far. All the figures, the action, the snow - its really been fun to work on. Its not done yet but I thought I would post it and then update when it is done. I would love to hear your thoughts and feelings about it so far. Thanks for stopping by and for looking!
Here are a couple of close up shots as well:

  1. Susan, it's fabulous ... SO much energy! I'm just not sure about that grey's left front leg? Where do they race like this in the snow?

  3. Kathryn, I forgot to answer your questsion. I saw them racing in the snow - and on the frozen lake in St. Moritz, Switzerland, when I went skiing in the alps many, many years ago.

  4. Marvelous...many more superlatives! Wish I could see the finish in person. I think you have won with this one. Beautiful, suggestive, restrained.

  5. Hi Susan.
Absolutely brilliant painting, couldn`t have been painted any better. We have an Artist at our club that seems to paint mostly Horses and I must show her your Blog. She is a good Artist but she will be a little jealous of your skills my friend. All the best Susan
    Vic.
