Painting in Oil
Wooo... Synchronicity! I was at work today, happened to take my sketch book. My last patient wanted to take a look, looked through as he was sitting with a mouth full of fluoride, and stopped and pointed at a self portrait I'd done a few months ago. And I thought I really should do a proper one ... and then you posted yours when I got home. Well, that was long and pointless. :) LOVE your self portrait, Susan!
I would love to see your SP, Kathryn - will you show us?
I could tell it was you. Great job.
Thanks, Julie I have done a few in paint. This was my first in pencil.
Merci, MartineAlison. You are so kind!
Ha, I expected that as you told us the workshop ended. Very nice.
Yes, I am mourning the loss of live models!
Inspiring, Susan! Good one.
Thank you, Diana - I am more drawogenic than I am photogenic! At least by my own pencil - :)!
Wow - that's wonderful!! I tried a self portrait once - then hid it so nobody ever saw it, lol! :0)
I was actually looking at some of Rembrandt,s many self portraits and then happened upon a few of van Goghs - so I figured - why not!:)
Thanks, Stephanie - I guess my recent portrait sessions gave me the confidence to try it.
Dat is wel heel goed gemaakt Susan.groetjes,Susan.
Many thanks to you, Simmone.

I am not quite sure what this is, Ashok, but thank you for thinking of me!
Hi Susan I don't get much time to swing by anymore. Love what you've been doing. All that stuff that just pours out of you, it's the ticket! Your drawings are just wonderful too. I can see why you are sad the sessions are coming to an end. Keep up the great work!
Hi, Susan - I know how busy you must be and I thank you for your support. I just stopped by your blog to catch your latest light filled delight of a painting and am in awe!
Many thanks Fernando!
Susan- it is the 26th and hope everything is okay. You don't usually take such a long break....did the self portrait do you in!!!!
Hi, Julie - and thank you for your concern. I am touched that you missed seeing me here. Its been a hard and frustrating couple of weeks. I was on such a roll and kind of screeched to a halt when I began studying to get those 80 continuing education credits to renew my license. Afterwards, I spent a week of great frustration with wipe off after wipe off. I am not sure if I am going to hit my stride again soon but I am persevering!
Susan, I am sorry. I have just read this comment.
Hi Susan - I've been away, ill, but am fine now and will try to get my show back on the road ASAP!
So sorry you were ill, John - and hope you have made a complete recovery. I have missed you.
I hope your absence from blogging does not mean absence from easel. I hope your duties are OK as planned.
Thank you, Irina. You are very kind.
Hi Susan,This is such a beautiful self-portrait! You have inspired me to try my hand at it one of these days.
I have done a few over the years, Wendy - and I highly recommend it! :)
Your comments are welcome and brighten my day!
