Fresno Firefighter

I finally finished the portrait of Fresno Firefighter Jeremy Slocum. I am happy with it because I have a good likeness and I feel I have captured the intensity of this moment with the look in his eyes, the set of his mouth, the abstracted, yet not indistinct background. It is 16x20, oil on canvas.

Arabian Horse Show-Training the Quarter Horse

Several weeks ago I went to the Arabian Horse Show at the Del Mar Fairgrounds here in San Diego. There were dressage competitions in the main ring but I was lucky enough to photograph this young cowgirl giving her horse a workout in an adjoining ring.

Girl With Flowers

A tiny little 5x7 figurative - Girl With Flowers. This is the friend of my niece - she is all grown up and away at college now but this is when she was around 9 or 10 and had a big arrangement of flowers for her Mom for Mother's Day.

Its Windy and Cold Outside

A little 8x10 portrait done today. Once again my goal was to paint boldy with energetic brush strokes and vibrant color to capture the essense of the moment.
