    1. I am thrilled at the opportunity to attend these life sessions and think that I am making progress. If nothing more, I am learning to see more deeply into the subject matter - perhaps a bit beyond the tilt of the head or the turn of the lips or the direction of the light. I am seeing a little more inwardly now.

  2. Susan, I love seeing your graphite works!!! The 60 min. sketch of Lynn reminded me so much of a Lautrec sketch of one of the can-can dancers. It must be her hair, and her expression. WONDERFUL!!!

    1. I was so absorbed when drawing her - when I stood back from the easel to see what I had done, I was astonished to see that I had drawn a Toulouse Lautrec dancer - I had that exact thought, Kathryn! I think this model, who was bursting with personality and could hardly hold still for a minute, just exuded that kind of energy. Funny, isn't it!

    1. Thanks you, Carolann - I am pleased to see a little progress in my graphite work from these life sessions. Hopefully, that will spill over into my painting.

  4. If I was as good as you at life drawing, I'd be tempted to do some more classes - but I crumble when I'm painting with really great Artists! Your smiles are perfect! :0)

    1. You draw so beautifully, Sandra - your teddy bears are awesome and you draw very complicated settings for them. I encourage you to try life drawing - it is terrifying, no doubt. But well worth the terror!
