Doing quick alla prima portrait studies to try and get back my skills. This one is from the book on direct painting techniques by Al Gury called "Alla Prima".

  2. Wonderful lively painting Susan I love your use of colour, would you recommend the book? It’s on my wish list but never got round to buying it.

  3. You know Susan, from this end it's never appeared like you lost your painting skills... Just so you know.

  4. Hi, Fautso and thank you for stopping by and for your comment - I am so glad you like this!
Yes, Dave, I would recommend this book as a primer on direct painting. Iread it cover to cover on a recent plane ride and could nto wait to get home and put some things that I learned to the test. It was expensive but worth the investment.
Susan, your thoughts mean so much to me - thank you.

  5. Susan, this is wonderful. I am sure you did not "lose" your skills, but to you, it felt that had happened. Keep on doing what you are doing!!

  6. Peaks and valleys is the same to "painting" as it is in the rest of life Susan. Getting back on one's horse and riding on with earlier conviction and courage is the true "Art".

Seems as if you have! Ride... and paint on Girl!

    Cheers!
