Some New Work at Reinert Fine Art

Closer to the Elusive Goal / oil on linen panel / 18x24

Deterministic Chaos / 16x20

Fundamental Synergy / oil on linen panel / 18x24
Three new hound dog paintings shipped off to Rick Reinert at the Reinert Finae Aat Gallery in Charleston, South Carolina. Thank you to Rick, Ann and Jason.

My husband and I are off to Las Vegas for our Christmas holiday this year as neither of our children will be home to celebrate with us. Instead we will treat ourselves to a Golden Knights hockey game and at Cirque du Soleil show. Everything changes and so we must go with the flow!

A very merry Christmas to one and all!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a very Happy New Year!

May all the wonders of this Christmas be yours to cherish!

I wish you all a peaceful, joyful holiday and a very happy New Year and a deeply felt thank you for all your enthusiasm and support this past artful year!

I will happily note that I was just notified by my gallery in Blowing Rock, North Carolina that three of the four paintings I recently shipped to them have been sold - wonderful news at this time of year! I am so grateful to  the Reinert Fine Art gallery for the exquisite way they have represented me and my work. Here is a look at the sold pictures - I am not sure if they all went to the same buyer but I do hope they have found a happy home to cherish them.

Reinert Fine Art in Blowing Rock, NC

The Reinert Fine Art Gallery is so good to me! My paintings were just received earlier this week (on Election Day!) and they are already unpacked and hung. Carolyn, the gallery director, was kind enough to send me some photos. I hope I get to visit this lovely gallery one day and to meet Carolyn and Rick and Ann Reinert in person. But seeing the gallery in these photos gives me a good idea of how beautifully my work is displayed among the other stellar artists that are there. It's a great thrill and honor for me to be in such good company!

Four of my paintings are displayed in the front window! What a thrill!

Connoisseur of Comfort on the bottom left

Early Lies the Wintry Sun on the right

A Profound Understanding above Connoisseur of Comfort

Inspired by a Shared Objective and Exuberance Unleashed beneath two of my equine paintings.
This gallery looks like an enchanted place of beauty to me - a place to feast the eyes and feed the soul!

If anyone is ever in Blowing Rock, please stop by the gallery and tell them Susan sent you!

Dogs, a Cat and Masterpiece #4

Four paintings, now beautifully framed, ready for shipment to the Reinert Fine Art Gallery in Blowing Rock, North Carolina gallery.

According to Miles Unger in his biography of Michelangelo, masterpiece #4 is the magnificent Moses that forms the riveting centerpiece for the tomb of Pope Julius. Moses is so powerful that he overwhelms the rest of the tomb. He is singular in conveying restless dynamism and smoldering power in a seated figure. He is thrust slightly forward as if about to rise and his gaze is fully riveted on something outside our field of vision. Michelangelo depicted Moses with two horns, something that is still debated by art historians.

According to legend, when the statue was completed, Michelangelo was so pleased with the realism he had achieved that he slapped the statue and demanded it to speak!

Three Months Later ....

and I am still painting! I can hardly believe that my last post was over three months ago - I don't know how time flies by so quickly. I have been busy keeping my galleries supplied with paintings and doing a lot of painting just for the pure joy.

A Moment of Disciplined Pleasure / 11 x 14 / oil on linen panel
This month Reinert Fine Art  opened a second gallery in the mountain town of Blowing Rock, North Carolina and Rick Reinert invited me to participate. He sent me this photo of the entry wall during the grand opening with five of my paintings so beautifully hung:

And the absolutely wonderful Roux & Cyr International Gallery of Fine Art in Portland, Maine, is celebrating the season with a small treasures show. The three wild running bunny paintings are my contribution and I am thrilled to report that two of them have already gone to wonderful homes.

I feel so fortunate to have these wonderful galleries displaying my work and making it available to the art loving public.

On the home front, my daughter, who has been living and working in Amsterdam for over a year now, was home for the Thanksgiving holidays. As a surprise for me, and all the way from the Netherlands, she carried a selection of powdered pigments ground in one of the last industrial dye windmills operating in the world today! I am so excited to have them and have been experimenting with how to use them in my work.

I would like to express a note of thanks to several of my blog followers who noticed my prolonged absence and were kind enough to send me emails telling me so - thank you Hilda, Julie and Vic. It does feel good knowing that my work was missed. You have warmed my heart, especially during this very special Christmas season and I am deeply appreciative. In fact, it was your concern and your words that inspired me to post again today. I have certainly missed following your blogs in this time period and intend to catch up as soon as I can. I need the inspiration that viewing your work provides to me!

Thank you to all for following this blog and reading my musings!
