Painting in Oil
WOW!!!! Excellent portrait of this man. I LOVE the skin tones!!! Beautiful light...
Love, love, love your enthusiasm! You make me feel great and I thank you! :)
Dag Susan, heel mooi geschilderd, en ja, die huidtinten zijn perfect ! Goed hoor dat je helleboris de sneeuw getrotseerd heeft, was voorspeld....Groetjes van Simonne
Hi, Simonne - his skin was bathed in so much light. It was a challenge to try and catch the light while not losing the nuance of values in the skin.
Thanks so much - he was fun to paint - especially with eyes closed!
Your portraits are so good!
Thank you, Judy. I wish I could be more consistent with them but each one seems to bring a new and difficult challenge.
Beautiful skin tones and sparkling light , great portrait !
Thank you, Jane - the light was so much fun to paint!
Beautiful flesh tones and brushwork. I failed the IQ test on this one, Susan. I thought when i first saw it (small) you meant you painted it with YOUR eyes closed. LOL.
You made me laugh, Julie! I do believe painting with MY eyes closed is more than I would attempt! I have had several models fall asleep during a portrait session so this one is not the first with closed eyes!
Bonjour ma chère Susan,Un très joli travail de couleurs... Des nuances merveilleuses qui jouent avec la lumière.Pas facile de peindre un homme !Gros bisous 🌸
Thank you, Martine - I find it fascinating how 2 dimensional paint nand canvas can depict a three dimensional person while maintaining his individuality - man or woman, young or old - its all such a huge challenge when trying to do a portrait.
Your comments are welcome and brighten my day!
