Having some Figure Fun

Oil on cardboard / 16 x x12

This morning we were treated to the additional delight of a small herd of deer in our valley. We have seen them several times this winter. They are mule deer and I never get tired of watching them!

  1. Susan, I look forward to your postings as I marvel at your skills in painting. They literally bring a big smile to my face. You certainly have mastered the art of portraiture. I love the way you transition the colors in the face of a subject as well as the bonus of humor you sometimes insert as with this woman today amidst the flowers. Love her expression. It would be so exciting to watch you work! Do you use art models or perhaps you work from photos? Whatever the way you have it nailed!

    1. I love the cardboard, Jane. It is absorbent and catches the paint beautifully. I wish I could paint on it all the time!

J'avais encore pris du retard !

Une très jolie jeune femme ! On dirait une petite fée avec toutes les fleurs !

J'aime son attitude, cette légèreté dans son visage. Juste merveilleux !
