Ballerina 24

Ballerina 24 is just coming undone! She is falling to pieces and is in a state of complete disarray after dealing with Hurricane Sandy and the Election. I do think she needs a long vacation. Oil on linen panel 24x18

  1. Hi Susan. She really does look quite discombobulated! But beautifully painted. Love the strokes of pinks and blues - adds to the general feel of minor mayhem. :)

    1. She can't decide whether to stay in this dimension or the next - very disconcerting for her!

    1. That beautiful blueish gray is a mixture of burnt sienna and ultra marine with white. Thanks for your comment, Simmone.

  4. It can't be easy being a ballerina in such stressful times ... she's doing her best, but 24 is not a number she is comfortable with ... she feels like a jockey without a horse (sounds familiar)

    Another fabulous painting, susan

    1. You know her too well, JOhn - she has been looking for that steed all afternoon!

    Gros bisous.

  6. Thank you for this thoughtful comment, Martine. Although my ballerinas may not be typical, they are extremely serious and focused - for the most part!
