Ballerina 18 Oil Sketch on Paper

Trying to get a feel for the position she has put herself in! A fun oil sketch - about 18x24 on heavy brown package paper.

  2. Cette ballerine est plus souple que moi !...
J'aime votre série avec l'ensemble des positions différentes... Vos personnages sont pleins de vie et de mouvements.

  5. All she needs is a Twister Board beneath her!

    She's fun and looking great!

  6. That's quite a pose you caught there Susan. Very dramatic. It does remind me of Twister. There was a time I could strike that pose--but only for a split second before collapsing to the floor laughing. Oh for the good ole days. Nice memories in this post and a very difficult pose, done brilliantly.

  7. The serenity of her face belies her unbelievably awkward position. Wow, is she twisted!!! I'm so happy to see another ballerina - love them. This one is so brilliantly painted, Susan.

  9. What most people don't realise is that she's not twisting, its simply that she can't believe it's brown paper ... so, she's just checking it out.

I think these ballet characters are magically wonderful... I really do.

    1. She must be so ashamed to end up on brown paper like that - and without even a hint of a shadow to ground her!
Thanks for your very kind thoughts, John.
